上野伝五右衛門等が伊勢神宮より邸内に勧請し、その後に村民が社殿を造営し、神明ケ谷戸一円の産土神として祀ったという。
社地は狭いが境内社が3社鎮座している。近くには田柄愛宕神社がある。
