このコースはところどころにやぐらもあり、何となく歴史も感じられますね。
It's a little difficult to climb, but the statue is placed behind the pedestal.
This course has some turmoil in some places, and you can feel the history somehow.

台座に「第八十八番 本尊薬師如来 讃岐國 大窪寺」と有るので「薬師如来像」と混同されたのだと思われます。
これは讃岐の大窪寺の本尊が薬師如来って事です。
周辺のやぐらにも弘法大師像（何故か頭を破壊されている）が安置され、四国まで出向けない人々が四国八十八ヶ所巡りの代わりをココで行ったと思われる。
富士講における富士塚の様なもの？
こちらの像を参って（八十八番目）コンプリートだったのでしょう。
実際、讃岐の大窪寺はお遍路さんの結願所。

The pedestal says "88th Honzon Yakushi Nyorai Sanuki Kuni Okuboji", so it seems that it was confused with "Yakushi Nyorai Statue".
This is the fact that the principal image of Okuboji Temple in Sanuki came to Yakushi Nyo.
A statue of Kobo Daishi (whose head was destroyed for some reason) was enshrined in the surrounding yagura, and it is believed that people who did not go to Shikoku took the place of visiting 88 places in Shikoku.
Something like Fujizuka in Fujiko?
It must have been complete (88th) by visiting this statue.
In fact, Okuboji Temple in Sanuki is a pilgrimage place for Ohenro.
