★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 築城年代は定かではないが長屋氏によって築かれた。 長屋氏は今須の長江氏と同族で、長江義景の次男明義の孫行長を祖とする。
文和2年(1353年)北朝の後光厳天皇は南朝方に京を追われ、足利義詮とともに垂井へ逃れ長屋氏の屋敷を仮御所としていた。しかし、南朝方が垂井を襲うと聞き、美濃国守護土岐頼康の居城へ逃れた。やがて足利尊氏が到着すると天皇も戻られ、足利尊氏とともに上洛した。
戦国時代には土岐氏に従っていたが、斎藤道三が台頭して土岐氏が没落すると、長屋氏も没落したという。
 The age of construction is unknown, but it was built by Mr. Nagaya. Mr. Nagaya is of the same family as Mr. Nagae of Imasu, and is the grandson of the second son, Akiyoshi Son, of Yoshikage Nagae.
Emperor Hakogogoko of the North Dynasty (1353) was chased by Kyo in the south, and escaped to Tarui with Yoshinobu Ashikaga, using the mansion of Mr. Nagaya as a temporary residence. However, when he heard that the south morning attacked Tarui, he escaped to the residence of Mino Guyori Yoriyasu Toki. Eventually, when Emperor Ashikaga arrived, the Emperor was also returned, and Takashi Ashikaga joined him.
According to Toki during the Warring States period, when Dozo Saito emerged and Toki fell, so did Nagaya.
