You can tell from the good view that it was a place where you could closely monitor trespassers. I think it would be fun to come here and think about it long ago.

You can see the good view from above. It's still fun to imagine before the skyscrapers were built. It would be better to stop by for sightseeing at the Imperial Palace.

Mitsukebansho located in Edo Castle is called Mitsuke. There were 36 main places. Many of them are installed integrally with the bridge over the moat. Akasaka Mitsuke is famous for being the name of a subway station, but it is said that Yotsuya, Ichigaya, Asakusa, Koishikawa and Ushigome also had Mitsuke.

It is a historical site where the stone wall of the gate of Edo Castle rebuilt and restored along National Route 246. I think the station name is more famous than this historic site, but it's quite impressive when you look nearby. Because there are considerable height differences and slopes, it can be seen that when there were no skyscrapers, you could see far away. It would have been a suitable location for finding the point of defense. If you want to see the Ishigaki closer, the promenade from the Tokyo Garden Terrace Kioicho next to the upper part of the Ishigaki will be interesting if you have time.

I think that the height is the highest among the stone walls and Edo Castle 36 Mitsuke, which was in charge of Kuroda Tadayuki, the grandson of Kuroda Kanbei. This stone wall is a masterpiece in the middle of the city, and there is also a commentary version so you can clearly see the engraved stone.

It was a bansho (Mitsuke) to protect the entrance and exit of the highway (Oyama Highway, now National Highway 246) that leads directly to Edo Castle. Built by Tadayuki Kuroda, the lord of the Fukuoka domain in Chikuzen. The stone wall is excellent.

Historically very interesting, tastefully surrounded by nice restaurants & shops. Not a huge site, but peaceful & worth visiting.
