★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Interesting experience. Good authentic soba noodles. Portions are a bit on the smaller side. Not much meaty options, if that’s what you’re looking for. English menu available, though adorably illustrated by a young child. Good for small groups. Save your space for some Uji sweets and desserts across the bridge.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing jyuuwari soba (100% buckwheat flour, no white flour) with a delicate aroma and great flavor. The tanuki was my favorite (comes with little crunchy bits and sweet fried tofu skin)!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As others have said, this is all about noodles. Toppings are minimal, though there are some sides available if you do want something else, but those too are fairly simplistic. We got the “spicy” (wasabi) zaru soba and tanuki soba and of the two I would definitely recommend tanuki. Crunchy age (fried bits of tofu) and lots of onions ?
