The price was 400 yen for adults, but it was reduced to 300 yen. It was worth the care of the garden and the cleaning of the room.

You can visit 4 old folk houses. Since the area is not large, about 1 hour is enough.

In a spacious space, you can take a leisurely stroll while observing. Pets are allowed to enter, and there is a place at the entrance of the tour house where you can scratch the lead that holds your pet. The receptionists were also polite and kind.

I happened to pass by at 8:30 pm, and I was drawn to the beautiful illuminations and just entered. It is an event that local young people are holding from this year. The cherry blossoms in full bloom were also lit up and it was very beautiful. I was able to visit the old old houses in the park for free. (There should be an admission fee during the day) I'm glad I turned back and stopped by this time.

It is a facility where you can tour the gassho-style building. The entrance fee was 410 yen, but no one was resident at the entrance, so I paid at the shop right after I entered. At that time, I had the image that it wasn't crowded, but in reality, there weren't many people. There are about 4 buildings that you can visit, and the scenery is very good because it is on the banks of the river. However, I had just been to Shirakawa-go, which can be said to be the home of the day before, so it was a fact that it wasn't very novel when I went after that. I thought it was a facility that I wanted to keep carefully, but in the end, I just took a picture and took a quick look, and it took about 30 minutes.

Wow! Even if they don’t offer English this is a must see spot. 400 yen per person. Totally worth it. Hundreds of various antique items in all the houses. It’s like being able to see what a village of long ago was like. They have old horse-drawn fire “trucks”. Old logging saws. Sleds to pull the logs. Super old phonograph with vinyl records. And so many more I could list but do not want to spoil it. We went on a non-holiday weekday and I only saw 4 other people the 90 minutes we were there. Shokawa village is the neighboring village to Shirakawago but without the houses of long ago. This museum ground is there to make up for the lack of old style Gassho houses and a wonderful stop.
