★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 少し寂しく感じました。観光化されていない感じかかえって良いのかも。
向かいの川の駅は整備された公衆トイレと小さな公園がありました。
 I felt a little sad. Maybe it feels like it has not been touristized.
The opposite river station had a well-maintained public toilet and a small park.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 北上川源流公園を見たったので脇道に逸れてみたが見つからなかった。
代わりに、ちょっと雰囲気の良いお寺を発見。向かいの公園ではヤマアカガエルと思われるカエルの合唱。心が癒やされました。カエルの合唱（音源素材）は後でニコニ・コモンズの方にアップしておきます。気になる方はどうぞ。
＜追記＞
ここの階段を上がると木の根っこ付近から出てる湧き水が源流らしいという情報を得た・・・分かりにくいから道路に看板出しておいてくれ・・・

It is a quiet and very nice place with a park near the headwaters of the Kitakami River. The guardian dog is cute! ️

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 歴史を感じます。境内には、御堂観音の由来石碑や明治天皇巡幸記念石碑などが設置されていました。付近には、川の駅が整備されていました。山門前の旧奥州街道が一戸町境まで続いていました。道が狭いので車での旧奥羽街道の移動は、注意が必要です。
I feel the history. In the precinct, the origin monument of Mido Kannon and the Meiji Emperor Memorial Monument were installed. Near the station of the river was maintained. The old Oshu Kaido in front of Yamamon continued to the Ichinomachi border. As the road is narrow, moving the old Oku Kaido by car requires caution.

前情報なしで行ったら思った以上に歴史ありげな立派なお堂で驚いた
何気に瞳がある狛犬って珍しいかも、編笠かぶっててホッコリする

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 岩手郡岩手町御堂にある天台宗寺院です。御本尊は千手観世音菩薩。大同２年（807）坂上田村麻呂将軍が祈願所として建立されたと伝えられます。
山門前の狛犬は相当なインパクトがありますね。パッと見開いたまん丸ギョロ目に豚鼻(大変失礼!)と、一度見たら忘れられなそうなお姿。角笠がまたいい味出しています。
有り難く、奥州三十三観音霊場第32番礼所の御朱印、“御堂観世音”を頂きました。
It is a Tendai sect temple located in Midou, Iwate-cho, Iwate-gun. The principal image is the Senju Kanzeon Bosatsu. It is said that General Sakanoue Tamura Maro was erected as a prayer place in the 2nd year of Daido (807).
The guardian dog in front of the mountain gate has a considerable impact. A pig nose (very rude!) With a wide open round eye, and a figure that seems to be unforgettable once you see it. Kakugasa has a good taste again.
Thank you very much for receiving "Mido Kanzeon", the red stamp of the 32nd Religious Hall of Oshu 33 Kannon Sacred Ground.
