The museum is cheap at 300 yen, and the staff kindly explain it, so it feels good, but the parking lot is 400 yen, which is too expensive ~ If you have 30 minutes, you can go around, so it's 400 yen for 30 minutes ❗ Higher than Tokyo I'll never do it again ~

The Toro Remains is located about 2km southeast of the south exit of JR Shizuoka Station, and is famous nationwide as the Yayoi period ruins about 2000 years ago. In 1943, Sumitomo Metals discovered a dugout canoe, a dwelling site, a paddy field site, etc., which are thought to be from the late Yayoi period, during reclamation work as a military industrial site, and a full-scale investigation was started after the war. .. As a result, the existence of 12 dwellings, 2 warehouses, and 12,000 tsubo (400a) paddy fields was clarified, and a large number of earthenware and woodware were found. Currently, the Toro ruins have been designated as a national special historic site, and houses and warehouses have been restored to become a historic park. At the Toro Museum in the Toro Ruins, materials that convey the transition of agriculture and life from the Jomon period through the Yayoi period to the modern era are displayed.

It is a museum near the Toro ruins. I'm glad that there is such a thing. The first floor is free, and 300 yen is required to see the permanent and special exhibitions on the second floor. In the permanent exhibition, there are tools and tableware excavated from the Toro ruins, and a diorama of the village of Toro, so those who like it can enjoy it.

A museum and facility that was renewed in 2010 and has many valuable exhibits. Many people came from their families. In the paid exhibition part, in addition to the materials actually excavated, you can also see exhibitions such as videos and dioramas, which children can fully enjoy. Surprisingly, the official website is well-developed, and it is very easy to understand the contents and the latest information that you can enjoy such as "Children's Trove Park". There seems to be a hall and a multipurpose room in the hall, and various cultural activities are carried out, and I think that it is a good example that historical sites are well integrated into the area even in modern times.

The first floor is an exhibition facility where children and adults can learn about life in the Yayoi period, such as wearing tageta, cutting rice with a stone sword, and experiencing a fire, which are the characteristics of this Toro Museum. You can enjoy learning up to. On the second floor, you can learn about Toro Remains through videos and quizzes, and many important cultural assets such as excavated earthenware and wood products are exhibited. You can reconfirm the value. From the rooftop, you can see the Toro ruins from a bird's-eye view, and you can also see Mt. Fuji in the northeast.

I've had an amazing visit in the Toro museum. Personally I really like history and archaeology, yet there are not much ancient archaeological sites in Japan. I was really enjoying this one, learning about the place through the ruins and its interactive museum. Shizuaka is one of my favourite places in Japan thanks to the Toro area and of course the amazing view of mount Fuji from there. The museum's staff were really nice and willing to teach even with the lack.of english and I had a great time with them. They even offered me to go to the museum's roof and watch the beautiful view of the Fuji. I really recommend to anyone travelling shizuaka or its area the hop over there. Also recommended to all ages.
