★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 平安時代の11～12世紀に麻績郷に御厨（伊勢神宮の料地）が開かれたときに、この地に伊勢神宮（豊受比売命）から勧請して神明宮を創建したと見られています。1897年（明治30年）に、神社の記録にある本来の祭神天照大神を奉斎するようになったそうです。
神社の記録には、７世紀半ばに現地に遷座して豊受比売命を祀る神社としたとされ、それ以前には天照大神を祀っていたと記されているとか。その遷座以前には、麻績川の対岸に古い伊勢社があったとも言われています。
大町市の仁科神明宮よりも古いか同じくらいに古い神明宮だとか。麻績宿といえば、古代の官道、その後の善光寺街道西往還では最も栄えた集落でした。養蚕も昭和前期までは養蚕も盛んで、今残っている広壮な二階建ての古民家は、その名残りです。街歩きおススメの街です。

According to the records of the shrine, it was said that the shrine was relocated to the site in the middle of the 7th century and enshrined Toyoukebime, and before that it enshrined Amaterasu Omikami. It is said that there was an old Ise-sha on the opposite bank of the Omi River before the transition.
It's older than Nishinashinmeigu in Omachi City, or as old as Shinmeigu. Speaking of Omi-juku, it was the most prosperous settlement on the ancient government road and then on the westbound route of the Zenkoji Highway. Sericulture was popular until the early Showa period, and the magnificent two-story old folk house that remains today is a remnant of that. It is a recommended city for walking around the city.

神明造りの年期入った建物がいくつかあって、平安時代から建っているということも納得。
お参りに行った時は 誰もおらず、重要文化財とはかけ離れた印象だった。
