駐車場も最上公園の向かえに停めることができます。

新庄城の絵図を見てかなりの広さであったことに
驚きました
公園内には三つの神社があり 珍しい白い鳥居で
統一されています
神聖なる場所という意味を持つ白い鳥居
南側にある茅葺の神社はその中でも
趣があり参拝してみてはいかがでしょう

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ お堀と石垣があり、7月中旬ということもありアジサイが綺麗でした。
城跡と言っても石垣が少しあるだけ、というところもあるけれど、ここは結構楽しめたと思う。
思いがけずインスタ映えなアジサイがありました(^^)
桜やもみじもあったので、春や秋でも楽しめそうですね。

There are some places where there are only a few stone walls even if it is called a castle ruin, but I think I enjoyed it quite a bit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 新庄駅から10分ほど歩いた場所にあります。現在は本丸の一部が残されており堀や土塁が見られます。 表御門跡、武器庫跡などの標柱も充実していてわかりやすくなっています。

今は戸澤神社になっており、ここにはかつて城がありました。
新庄藩初代藩主の戸沢政盛が築いた城で、新庄藩は最上郡一円と村山郡の一部、６万石を領したそうです。
１８６８年に新庄城は庄内勢に攻められ、焼失して城は廃され、跡地は郡会議事堂等の敷地として利用されたようです。
