★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 八町は鬼怒川の西にあるのに下総国ではなく何故常陸国だったのか不思議だったが，昔はこの寺の西側に鬼怒川があったのでそうなったようだ。グーグルアースで見ると昔の河道の跡がくっきり伺える。創建当時はこの辺一帯どんな景色だったのだろうか・・・
Although Hachimachi is to the west of the Kinugawa, I was wondering why it was Hitachi instead of Shimousa, but it seems that it happened because there used to be the Kinugawa on the west side of this temple. If you look at Google Earth, you can clearly see the traces of the old river channel. What kind of scenery was this area at the time of its foundation?
