以前に比べかなり整備されました。
すっかりビルに囲まれ木漏れ日が狭くなりました。
綺麗に利用したいものです。
Along with the Benkei Bridge and Yotsuya Banke, it is an old place of rest.
It has been considerably better than before.
It was surrounded by the building completely and the sunbeams narrowed.
I want to use it beautifully.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 江戸時代の頃、湧水があったことから、清水谷と呼ばれました。大名屋敷の境目の地帯だったが、明治初期には この付近で 大久保利通 さんが暗殺されたことで、哀悼碑が建てられ、清水谷公園として整備されることになりました。

It was called Shimizudani because there was spring water in the Edo period. Although it was a border area of the Daimyo residence, in the early Meiji period, Toshimichi Okubo was assassinated in the vicinity, so a mourning monument was built and it was decided to maintain it as Shimizuya Park.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 江戸時代紀伊家と井伊家の屋敷境の谷であったことや、紀伊家の屋敷に霊水(清水)が湧きだしていたことで紀尾井坂下交差点から弁慶橋辺りまでを清水谷と呼ばれていました。
公園の中央には紀尾井坂で暗殺された、大久保利通の遭難記念敷地が占めています。
It was called the Kiyomizu Valley from the Kioi Sakashita crossing to the Benkei Bridge because it was a valley between the Kii and Ii houses, and because Reimizu (Shimizu) was springing up in the Kii house. ..
In the center of the park is the site of the disaster memorial site of Tokutsu Okubo, who was assassinated in Kioizaka.

紀尾井町を南北に貫いているこの公園前の通りは、中でも、公園を出て右に上がった交差点の辺りは江戸時代から「清水谷」と呼ばれてきました。尾張屋板江戸切絵図にも「シミズダニ」と記されています。
それは、周囲から清水が湧き出しており、通行人に喜ばれていたためといいます。
この清水谷公園の改修に際して、公園の名にちなんでここに湧水を復原しました。

Shimizutani, on the way to Kioi-zaka, is the place where Toshimichi Okubo, a heavyweight of the new Meiji government, was assassinated by the complaining clan in 1891. This incident ended the early stages of the Meiji Restoration and began a new history.
