Fantastic displays of historic homes and functional structures from the Edo & Meji Period and if that doesn’t rock your boat there’s a Tadao Ando built gallery at the top. The tea house is also super sweet and they have an english menu.

Interesting bits of Shikoku history. A few hours is enough. I didn’t enjoy it too much though. The shrine beside has good views from atop the hill.

They were okay. A little bit pricey. They used to be 800yen but now they are 1000yen for an entrance. Very famous for those people who likes cosplay. I saw a lot of them here.

It is a shame not many people aware of this maginificent place. This plave have most of the replica of the traditional houses across the Shikoku. There is also restaurant and souvenir shop near the entrance and the parking area. Since we visited it in winter, there are not many to saw aside from lots of blooming dark pink camellia. Once it's spring, many flowers including the iris will bloom.

A must visit, excellent descriptions in English, an educational look at how locals from 1600 to pre-industrial Japan lived in villages. Alll of the buildings are transplants and very quiet with a modern art museum up hill with excellent stories of the artist’s works and life overseas. Only 1000 yen entry. It doesn’t have the demonstrations of other cultural centers but cheaper and a good walk amongst some fragrant forests and flowers. I could hear movement of snakes but didn’t see any. Many butterflies in the summer. Just wonderful.

I didn't realize how large it is--so many beautiful and interesting traditional houses and other buildings from all over Shikoku. It was wonderful.

Nice display of old houses. Possibilities to see from the inside are a bit limited. But overall nice place to visit. The open air art (bag in a bottle) and the Shikoku Mura gallery are the real highlights. Small but nice collection and a great view!

The place is refreshing, calm and interesting to go for. Indeed to see how were people living in the old days, allow us to understand why the Japanese are so eager to preserve their culture and tradition. Ps: the bridge on the water was scary but worth a try. No danger at all
