★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 延喜式神名帳に名前が載っている宮津で最も古い神社であり、いわゆる「式内社」と呼ばれる格式ある神社です。いまは山王宮日吉神社の境内社になっていますが、本来はこちらがメインの神さまであったはずが、やはり全国的なパワーをもつ日吉神社の威勢が強くて宮津鎮守の役割を譲ってしまったものと思われます。御祭神は「大物主命 少名彦命」とされますが、そのようなメジャーな神さまじゃなくておそらく杉の大木があってその神威に対して拝礼する信仰がもともとあったのでしょう。
