The museum is next door. You can visit for free. In addition, mosquitoes are amazing in the summer, so you need to take measures. It is a Jomon period ruin designated as a national historic site. At that time, the coastline would have been around here. You can dig into a part to see the actual deposit of shell mounds. In addition, the pit dwelling has been restored so that you can imagine how life was at that time. However, I was scared that there was a way to see it, but there were also a lot of crushed shells! In other words, you will be walking on the shell mound. Is it okay if it is a nationally designated historic site?

Around 1985, when I was a child, many shellfish fell while maintaining their shape. Now it's crushed and it's getting much finer.

Since many shells of clams have been discovered since ancient times, it is said that it was named Shijimizuka Site. Did the Jomon people who lived in Hamamatsu like clams? There are also some restored houses.

Visiting the ruins is completely free. Parking lot is also free. There is a public toilet, and the restored pit dwelling can accommodate up to 2 buildings. Some people have a picnic right next to the clam mound, and it's open. There is a Hamamatsu City Museum nearby and excavated items are on display.

The parking lot is large and easy to enter ? Admission is cheap at around ¥ 300 for adults w If you thought there were only ruins In a full-scale museum Known from the Jomon period to the history of Hamamatsu It's quite spectacular and quiet It's a calm place, so I think it's a little-known spot ✨ An old house with a thatched roof is built outside the site and you can enter inside Immerse yourself in a relaxed mood like a rural auntie's house and make a photo shoot ☺️

A nice historic site for a short trip. The site of buried shells and animal bones from 3000~4000 years ago are preserved. The reconstruction of the prehistoric houses is quite amazing, and we can enter the houses before they are closed at 5pm. Families spending time there during the weekend is a common sight.
