１６世紀初めに造られたといわれている岩壁に描かれた仏像。
永平寺川にかかる曹源橋の傍らに、総数９体あるはずだが、いずれも刻線で描かれているため、苔の勢力が強く良く見えないところもある。
聖観音菩薩とか地蔵菩薩像が刻まれているが、このままいくと近々見えなくなりそうで心配である。
Shibisen Kokumagaibutsu
A Buddha statue drawn on a rock wall that is said to have been built in the early 16th century.
There should be a total of nine bodies beside the Sogen Bridge over the Eiheiji River, but since all of them are drawn with engraved lines, there are places where the power of moss is strong and cannot be seen well.
The statues of the Holy Kannon Bodhisattva and the Jizo Bodhisattva are engraved, but I am worried that they will soon disappear if they continue as they are.
