柴崎稲荷神社。戦国時代に木田見氏が高台のここへ築城したと云われている。近くの深大寺城と同様に多摩川方面へ視界が見渡せる様に築城されている。開発前はここ一帯が緑の山であり江戸時代中期に確立された五街道の一つである甲州街道もこの時代には獣道程度であったと予想すると敵兵は多摩川と近くの野川を利用する手段しかなかったのだろう。因みに深大寺城も野川から数百メートルに位置する。

現在、柴崎稲荷神社がある場所は、平安時代後期から室町時代、この地で勢力を誇った武蔵七党のひとつ、野与党の柴崎氏の城郭があった場所と見做されています。神社のある高台は、いかにも豪族が陣屋を構えていたであろうと思われます。神社名の「柴崎」の名称由来のようですが、柴崎陣屋跡の遺跡は残されておらず、また神社境内に説明板などはありませんでした。
