★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 特別史跡多賀城跡附寺跡を構成する遺跡の一つ。
多賀城跡の西方約1キロメートル、東西大路沿いに位置しており、大規模な建物跡や高級な陶磁器などが発見されました。中でも「右大臣殿 餞馬収文（うだいじんどの せんばしゅうもん）」と書かれた題箋軸木簡（だいせんじくもっかん）が出土したことで、この場所が10世紀前半頃の陸奥守（むつのかみ）の邸宅跡であることがわかりました。地方の役所で、国の長官の邸宅が明らかになったのは全国で初めてであったことから、平成5年、特別史跡に追加指定されました。

Located about 1 km west of the Tagajo Castle ruins, along the East-West Avenue, large-scale building ruins and high-class ceramics were discovered. Among them, the title "Daisenji Kumokkan" with the words "Udaijindo Senba Shumon" was excavated, and this place was found in the first half of the 10th century. It turned out to be the site of the mansion of Nokami). Since it was the first time in Japan that the residence of the Secretary of State was revealed at a local government office, it was additionally designated as a special historic site in 1993.
