石造りで総高2メートル、像高1・4メートルの地蔵菩薩立像で、台石に刻まれた文字から正徳元年1711年の制作と推定されるそうです。
かんかん地蔵という名前は石でたたけば願いがかなうという事からの由来で、長い間叩かれた為に足元が細くなり、近年修理されました。
かんかん地蔵の両側に同じ頃に造られた胎蔵大日如来坐像(享保14年1729年)、と勢至菩薩立像(寛保元年1741年)が立っています。
江戸時代の制作というのでお顔の表情が長い年月であまりわかりませんが、皆に大切にされて今日まで残っていて貴重だと思いました。
