★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 昭和29年9月竣工、全長123.2mの朱色の鋼吊橋。現在は通行禁止であり、新丸山ダムの完成後は水没する。
A vermilion steel suspension bridge with a total length of 123.2m, completed in September 1954. It is currently closed to traffic and will be submerged after the completion of the Shin Maruyama Dam.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 山深い場所にある古い橋です。酷道や廃道、橋梁などのマニアには有名です。橋そのものは健全で安心して渡れます。ただ、床板はグレーチンング(網）なので怖い方も多いかと思います。
塗装がヤレているものの所々新しい塗装があり、今でも整備されていると思われます。
アクセスは山道を徒歩に限られます。歩きやすい靴、足元を守る為に短パンはヤメておいた方が良いです。また、道中はクモの巣が多いので、顔にクモの巣が絡む事が多いです。なので、夏を避けて寒い時期に行く事をお勧めします。
It is an old bridge in a deep mountain area. It is famous for enthusiasts such as rough roads, abandoned roads and bridges. The bridge itself is healthy and safe to cross. However, since the floorboard is a grating, there are many people who are scared.
Although the paint is broken, there are new paints in some places, and it seems that it is still maintained.
Access is limited to walking on mountain trails. Shoes that are easy to walk in and shorts should be left unprotected to protect your feet. Also, there are many spider webs along the way, so spider webs are often entangled in the face. So I recommend you to avoid the summer and go during the cold season.

ワクワクします(大自然の綺麗な景色が有り途中難( 歩きや自転車、バイクならすれ違い可能)
落ちたら最後!
二股トンネルもスリル満点ライト無しではカナリ恐怖
(幽霊は居ません)
五月橋は確実にダムに沈む
今しか無い、行かないと後悔します
五月橋の往き方がイマイチ解りづらいですが綺麗な所です、
通行止めを行くと良い。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ こんな奥地に立派な吊り橋があったなんてなかなか想像つきませんが、ダム嵩上げ前に行ってみようと人道の丘から徒歩で２時間15分ほどかけて向かいました。日吉町からが近いですが、既に新五月橋架替え関連工事中により立ち入り出来ない(2021/10/4時点）です。
It's hard to imagine that there was a magnificent suspension bridge in such an outback, but I took about 2 hours and 15 minutes on foot from the humanitarian hill to go before raising the dam. It is close to Hiyoshi-cho, but it is not accessible (as of October 4, 2021) due to the construction work related to the replacement of the new May bridge.
