★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was delighted to find this hidden haven while exploring Omote-sando. On my never-ending quest for the rare thin, delicate style of Inaniwa udon, this perfect little bowl with beef and green onion satisfied my hopes for my visit to Japan. A light dessert was portioned perfectly for one (I chose fig creme brûlée, the least Japanese of the menu, but it features several options with red bean and a couple of anmitsu) I can tell it would be even more beautiful and relaxing during the daytime when the botanical view is visible.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This Japanese restaurant in the Oak Omotesando building it's located on one of the busiest shopping street in Tokyo but head up to the second floor and the noise dissipates. The serene room with a huge picture window has a long table and another raised counter facing a small garden. The lunch menu allows diners to pick from a selection that might include a shabu shabu hot pot with Sangen pork, Mizuna leaf and citrus sauce or steamed trout sushi.
