I have visited during a special visit. Nowadays it is a small site surrounded by houses, but was it a wider precinct in the past? According to the bill, it is a temple of the Jodo sect's nun, and was founded in the middle of the 14th century by the princess of Gokogonin, Naishinnō Miko.

It is also known as the Amagomon Temple Irie Gosho. It is usually closed to the public and I visited during the special visit. The highlight is the Shoin, which enshrines the palace of Emperor Taoyuan, and the garden of Horai. No photography is allowed in the precincts.

The 54th Kyoto Winter Trip Special Visit I visited here to see the folding screens painted on dynamic gold leaf. The folding screen on the main hall is a little dull and small. Therefore, when I visit leaflets and guidebooks, it is lower than expected. I was more attracted to the youkai picture scroll on display next door. I could see only four bodies in the unfolded place, but I wanted to look carefully at the others. And next to it, the Shoin is a place where you want to watch it slowly though it is compact. A shoji screen with a fan surface and a wall painting by Maruyama Okyo. I was sorry that the former had fine paintings and the latter had a dark room and was hard to see. However, there are some places that are of interest, such as the use of raw cedar wood in the ranma, and the dynamic Karasansui “Horai no Niwa”. Is there a corridor with all tatami floors except the porch? The structure was interesting too. I'm sorry that I couldn't take photos of the grounds here. That's why I decided to watch it with my eyes. And the commentary by the students was wonderful here.

Visited 2020/01/19. I visited for a special exhibition of 2020 winter trip in Kyoto. Admission ¥ 600-. Both the inside of the building and the garden are photos NG. I want you to include it in either the pamphlet or the homepage. I'm going to photograph OK. I couldn't see this in the garden, and it was good to see the fusuma picture as normal, but the room at the back was too dark and didn't look very good.

(京都市) Sanji-Chionji Temple, which looks like a nun, belongs to the Jodo sect and is called the Irie Gosho. During the Northern and Southern Dynasties, Emperor Gokogon's Princess Naishinnō lived with the Imperial Palace of Emperor Suko. After that, Yoshimitsu Ashikaga opened the mountain and became Chionji Temple. At the end of the Muromachi period, Emperor Go-Kashiwabara was entrusted to this temple at 3 o'clock in the daytime out of the 6 o'clock Nembutsu held six times daily in the palace, so it became Sanji-Chionji. After the Great Fire of Tenmei, the former shrine of Kyoreimonin was given, and the statue of Amida Nyorai, the principal idol, and the statue of Shandao Daishi, who was commissioned by Shunsuke from Song, were enshrined in the main hall. It also holds the flower and bird style lanterns written by Einō Kano, a cultural property designated by Kyoto City. (Kyoto City)
