One of the nun ruins temples called "Chiyono Gosho", which is called Jugezan. Houjiin, which was founded by Mugenyodai Nun in the Kamakura period, was a branch of Keiaiji Temple in Nishiitsutsuji Higashimachi and was one of the remains of the Rinzai sect's nun. It is said that Mugai Nyodai was the wife of Kanezawa Sanetoki of the Kamakura Shogunate, and he left home according to his uneducated ancestors. It is called Chiyono Gosho because of its childhood name. The temple name was originally called Shijuin, but it was changed to Houjiin after the Onin War. When Emperor Koiwa, Princess Karin Egon, was a priest, she was named "Chiyono Gosho" after her childhood name, Chiyonohime, and was allowed to wear purple robe. Since then, the priest of this hospital has been decided to be a royal family or a girl of a prince, and during the Edo period, she was listed as one of the Bikuni Imperial Palaces. The temple treasure of Keiai-ji Temple, which was abolished due to the Onin War, has been moved to Houjiin and continues to this day. The main hall was rebuilt after the great fire of 1788 (Tenmei 8). The statue of Amida Nyorai (important cultural property), which is enshrined in the storage, is a sitting statue of Joroku parquet and is said to be the old Buddha of Keiaiji Temple. The statue of Buddha Mugai and the statue of Mugai Nyodai (important cultural property) are enshrined on the side platform. The wooden statue of Amida Nyorai, the principal idol, is a 284.6 cm long six Buddha, and is a parquet that connects the seals of elegant and elegant students, and was made in the late Heian period. In addition, the wooden Mugai Nyodaiza statue is rare as a sculpture of the nun of the Kamakura period, and both are designated as important cultural properties and are enshrined in the precincts storage. (Source: Kyoto City) Normally, it is not open to the public, but it is sometimes open to the public due to winter trips.
