足の怪我や病院に御利益のある韋駄天が祀られています。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 門前の掲示板のお言葉が秀逸。漢語混じりであれば格でもつくかと競う諸寺院の中にあって、古今の著名人の読むのに平易な名言を取り上げ、ハッと足を止まらせ、考えさせ、じわじわと味わい深さに心が沁みていく、そのセンスには脱帽である。中でも吹き出したのは伝統を重んじ、堅苦しいお寺のイメージには一見あるまじき、歌手のビヨンセの名言である:
「人生とは何回呼吸するかではなく、何度、息をのむ瞬間があるかだと思う」

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 五大明王の素敵な御朱印を頂きました。弘法大師が建てた日本最初の寺、東長寺についてもお詳しくて感銘しました。本堂の中はお彼岸の時にしか見られないというのが残念でした。
I received a wonderful seal of the Five Great Ming King. I was also impressed with the details of Tochoji Temple, the first Japanese temple built by Kobo Daishi. It was disappointing that inside the main hall can only be seen at the shore.
