There are mute swans (Cygnus olor, kobu-hakucho in Japanese) year round, which seem to be quite accustomed with humans. The mute swans are descendants of a pair transferred from the moat of the Imperial Palace in Tokyo.Whooper swans (Cygnus cygnus) might also come in winter, but I haven't seen them. There is a free car parking with toilets, although the road access is a bit complicated. (The park is close to National Route 6, but you have to go through narrow streets).

It overlooks the swamp/lake which can have provide an interesting view, but that is very dependent on the weather. If its cloudy or overcast it can be pretty dull. The pack has a raised platform viewing deck that goes along the majority of the length of the park and you can view some of the birds that live around the area from it. There are a lot of swans, seagulls from time to time and several other kinds of birds. The overlooking, gutted leftover of the hotel is a point of interest as well.
