歴史を感じさせる、古くて趣のある寺院なのですが
少し荒れ気味なのがとても残念ですね。

四阿屋山 方養寺 薬師堂
古くて黒い薬師堂は県指定有形文化財で室町時代末期の造営とされていますが、1570年頃の武田信玄の秩父侵攻で焼失したのちに、現在の寄居町にあった鉢形城 の城主 北条氏邦によって再建されたとあります。目の薬師として知られていて、神奈川県伊勢原市の日向薬師、愛知県新城市の鳳来寺薬師とともに日本三體薬師に数えられています。
黒い薬師堂とは反対に、色とりどりの千羽鶴が奉納されていてとても印象的でした。
