★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Unlike it's namesake, this isn't much of a cycling sanctuary. There is a lot of omiyage (gifts) to buy, a vendor selling some produce, a couple concession stands, and a fish restaurant (which is a little pricey). Other than the beach and bathroom, there's not much benefit for a cyclist to stop here. You'd be better off going a little bit more north to circle K if you just need some water and snacks to refuel. The people there are helpful though if you need advice or are lost.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Perfect place for have a nice rest during a very hard workout with my bike. I personally prefer other type of places, but about this one I had to think again ! I was surprised to explore the spot and take the right placement. Anyhow, I was very tired so I was very lucky to find it !!

I would definitely ride my bike again on this 70km course, play with the dolphins, enjoy the delicious food that you can try along the way and the list continues.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This has always been a great lunch or break stop on the Shimanami route from Onomichi to Imabari. There is a good restaurant with local fish, a nice shop, bathrooms, and facilities for cyclists/cycles. Try the マハタ (mahata or grouper), it is delicious.
Update:
I visited on a holiday and they were fairly busy. When my order had not arrived after 35 minutes, I had to leave to make the Setoda ferry. Since you now pay in advance, there was no way to cancel my order, so I lost my money and am removing one star. The food is usually pretty good.
