The Italian flag was fluttering in the back alley, making it an easy-to-understand landmark. It's a small shop, but I was impressed by the very cozy and smart service. Oita's ingredients are often used in the dishes, and I was surprised at the thickness of the sautéed flatfish and was impressed by the aroma and deliciousness. It was a birthday celebration 10 days different from my cousin I went with, so I made dessert a birthday celebration plate. Thank you very much. I like all the food and the service of the staff. It was a good shop worth the money. It's a good atmosphere that you don't have to wear jeans. However, you can't just tie up your lunch payments in cash. We intentionally spent the whole day avoiding food so we could fully enjoy the wonderful Italian cuisine which the restaurant is reputed for. Imagine our disappointment after ignoring the tempting smells of yakiniku & ramen in the neighbouring shops the whole day, only to find that we were served pathetically tiny portions of ordinary vegetables we could cook at home by ourselves. The restaurant was well aware we were celebrating our wedding. We received the fancy “おめでとう” chocolate inscription on our plate. Apart from that, the whole course was far from celebratory. Per the photos I have attached, our “salad” consisted of 5 tiny pieces of vegetables, including half a tomato & broccoli. Our asparagus looked pathetic. The appetiser & main course, even moreso. The two of us shared a plate of tiny servings and we almost wanted to cry when we found out the bill amounted to more than ¥10,000 each! Unbelievable! We ended up eating a hearty meal at a nearby ramen restaurant, swearing that we will never return.
