As soon as you enter, there is an explanation board called "Genbu Buddha Monument", which is written as below.
Genbu Buddha monument
Rinsen-ji Temple began in 1653 at Rinsen-an Temple, which was connected to the current location near the Onagi River by the 20th generation of Kashima Konponji Temple (Ibaraki Prefecture). Issei) requested the shogunate, and in 1713, he was granted the name of the mountain temple called "Rinsenji Temple" and became the last temple of Kyoto Myoshinji Temple.
It is said that Matsuo Basho, who moved to Fukagawa in the 8th year of Enpo (1680), had a close friendship with Osho Buddhist priest and often attended meditation. The Basho issue "Momosei" is also said to have been created by Osho Buddha. Since then, as a temple related to Basho, the Genbu Buddhist monument, the Umehana Buddhist monument, the sumi-repairing monument, and the Basho historical monument have been left.
The Genbu Buddhist monument was built by the Hakusanshita men of the school to honor the Mino school poet Kamiya Genbubo (Genbu Buddha, died in 1798). At the beginning of Enkyo (1744-48), Genbubo built a monument at Rinsenji Temple, which was built by Basho's Shikō Kagami (Umehana Buddha) at Sorinji Temple in Kyoto. It is said that he held a direct meeting to enjoy Basho. It is said that Genbubo also built the Umehana Buddhist monument, and he devoted himself to honoring Basho and the Mino school.

A temple of the Rinzai sect Myoshinji school that has a close relationship with Mr. Basho Matsuo, a haiku master who was active in the early Edo period known as haiku ?
A Zen priest, Buddhist Zen Master, who was known as Basho's Zen master and had a close friendship with Basho in the early Edo period, appealed to the temple territory between Konponji Temple and Kashima Jingu Shrine as a residence in the meantime. It is a temple that has been revived as a temple with wishes delivered with Kusuan as a knot, so it is a great luck ?
It is also a temple with a history that Mr. Basho often went to this temple to attend Zen meditation ?
Therefore, the historic sites of Mr. Basho and Mr. Basho's disciples are scattered in the precincts ?
He was one of Shomon Jittetsu and was known as a controversialist along with Morikawa Kyoroku, but he was notorious for his selfish personality. The two haiku poets who were involved in the stone monument imitating the sumi-repair monument erected at Shomon-ji Temple in Kyoto by the haiku master Shikō Kagami, who was also known for his work in the early Edo period. The "Plum Flower Buddha Monument" and "Genbu Buddha Monument" built in commemoration and the "Basho Historical Monument" that describes the history of the construction of this temple are densely packed ?
In addition, although it is not open to the public, we also have a "Basho-oh statue" that is a living copy of Mr. Matsuo Basho.
The temple itself is a modern hall with unique sculptures, so it is a must-see ?
I was really happy that the aunt at the temple was kind enough to search for a book with auspiciousness ???
The Genbu Buddha monument is designated as a registered cultural property in Koto Ward ✨ ✨ ✨
However, it is a temple with a few attractions ?
