Futtsu Park is rich in nature. My mother told me that I liked climbing the observatory with the ruins of Futtsu Motosu Artillery from a young age. Is it an observatory now? Observatory? I am sorry that I was not able to climb the mountain, but I was blessed with the weather, refreshed in the fresh weather and the wind, I was refreshed. Futtsu Park where you can feel nature. The ruins of Futtsu Motosu Artillery are pleasant and I love them. Please go out on a sunny day.

This park is the site of a battery built in the Meiji era. There used to be underground facilities and facilities to measure the location of enemy ships, but the underground facilities have been reclaimed and the observation facility has become an observatory. Still, you can see what the old battery looks like. This Futtsu battery is the only battery with a water moat. Buses leave from Kisarazu Station, Kimitsu Station, and Aohori Station for public transportation.

The Futtsu battery is the easternmost part of the inner bay of the Tokyo Bay Fortress. Although he was prepared for the Russo-Japanese War, he finished his role safely due to the victory of the Russo-Japanese War and was taken into a part of the Futtsu Range. At the Futtsu Range, a test shot of the legendary Type 90 240 mm railway gun was carried out. The Type 90 240 mm railway gun had a shell flight distance of over 50 km and landed from Futtsu to a dozen kilometers south of Sunosaki, Tateyama City. This flight distance exceeds the maximum range of battleship Yamato, and is still the longest flight record for shells in Japan. Perhaps the future eternity, this Japanese record will not be broken as the flight distance of the cannonball. The barrel is made in France, but I'm glad I made it! I wanted to see this shooting. Despite its huge size, this type of cannon has a short barrel life, and it was said that it would reach the end of its life after firing about 100 shots. It's like a Nausicaa giant. Of course, the main gun of battleship Yamato also has a lifespan of only 100 shots. The train gun was eventually confiscated by Soviet troops in Manchuria without being used in combat. disappointing.

An artillery modeled after a Western-style castle that was built as one of the Tokyo Bay defense bases in 1890. Futtsu Cape is made up of sandbars, where an outer moat is first dug, and then sand and bricks dug up are filled in and a battery and ammunition are built in the earth. Older than Tokyo Bay Ridge, Sarushima Fortress, Kannonzaki Fortress. Rather than being a modern fortress, the territory is more like Kanagawa Daiba designed by Katsu Kaifun at the end of the Edo period, and Hakodate Goryokaku, which was relied on by the former shogunate. Futtsumisaki and the opposite shore running water are also the stage of Sakai Kenmei and my brother Tachibana Mythology. The storage condition is not good or bad, but unfortunately the management is not perfect.

It is a fortress site of the Meiji era built in the narrowest part of the bay to repel enemy ships trying to invade Tokyo Bay. An oval depression with a 28-santi cannon that was used to capture the Siege of Port Arthur during the Russo-Japanese War and shook Russia still exists. Together with the Kannonzaki Battery on the Miura Peninsula on the opposite bank and the artificial islands No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 Kaito built on the sea, Tokyo was proud of the defense of the iron wall. At the time of the Meiji era, the range of the cannon was at most 7 kilometers, so many batteries and seawalls were needed to block Tokyo Bay, but in the Taisho era, the performance of the cannon improved dramatically. With a range of more than 20 kilometers, it can now reach the opposite bank. Therefore, the old-fashioned battery, which is expensive to maintain in the Army, was arranged as a useless long item in the Taisho era, so it was also targeted here, and it seems that it was used as a firearm experiment site after the cannon was removed. Many of these military-related remains were destroyed after the war, so I wonder if this place, which remains in good condition, is extremely valuable.

It is a quiet war ruins surrounded by a water moat. The former gun was removed and only the remains of the gun seat were left, the underground facilities such as the bunker were also buried, the vents showed its existence, the above-ground structures were also covered with concrete and the observatory was built, but the reverse I think it's fun to imagine what it was like in the past. There are also some remains scattered in the windbreak that surrounds this battery.
