The food here has gone significantly downhill. It’s honestly terrible. Pizza crust was uncooked all the way through on my last visit. I asked for them to fix it and they burnt the pizza completely to the point of it being inedible. I left and I will not return again, ever. Staff was maskless in the kitchen and talking loudly amongst themselves during lunch. Music inside was blaring so loud I couldn’t stand it. Terrible experience and I highly do not recommend this restaurant. There are much better American style pizza places around such as Pizza Slice in Roppongi / Akasaka and The Pizza in Hiroo, both of which do a much better job and at a lower price too.

A lot of pizza shops have cropped up over the years, but Pizzakaya is still the OG. You can get a classic pie with pepperoni, or go wild with their more unique creations like the amazing Santa Fe pizza (caramelized onions, lime chicken, and guacamole on top). 1000 yen lunch is one of the best deals in the city.

Meal: Lunch Day Visited: Saturday Budget: ¥2,000/person Closest Station: Rappongi Reservation Needed?: No Payment: Cash Kid Friendly?: Yes English Menu?: Yes I have loved Pizzakaya for a number of years now. In a country that often significantly “adapts” western foods to the Japanese taste, I find Pizzakaya’s pies to generally stay true to their origin. Good stuff!

One of the very few eateries where you get gluten free options. We ordered a gluten free veggies delight and it was amazing! Also got some pasta (not gluten free) and fries with variety of dips. Everything tasted wonderful. The place has a very casual vibe, all the staff is non Japanese and all the guests around were also non Japanese while we were there. Would definitely love to visit whenever I get pizza cravings!

Great little pizza place that has a vegan option. I don't like vegan cheese so they accommodated by leaving off the cheese entirely. Make no mistake, this is not a vegan restaurant. They have lots of meat options for your non-vegan friends. I had half mushrooms and half vegetables. Owner is American from California and one other worker I met was from Charleston, SC. Menu is in English and English is spoken so non-Japanese speakers can relax. But I'm certain they understand Japanese as well. Enjoy.

If you want an American pizza at an American vibe restaurant this is the place to go! Love the interior with lots of witty posters. Ordered the 1000 yen lunch set with salad, drink and a small sized pizza (medium for japanese size). You can choose two toppings and we chose bacon and salami for one and green peppers and chicken for the other. You get served your hot and toasty pizza right out of the oven. It's so tasty, lots of cheese, nothing beats the American pizza here! You can also do all you can eat pizza for 1500 which I've done but you just can't eat that much. Maybe good to choose if you come in a big group.

Delicious pizza (I had the BBQ chicken pizza), very generous salad sizes, and the garlic dough balls were to die for after not having anything similar in Japan for years. The atmosphere was also really nice. It felt very cosy and it was kind of fun having movies being screened while you eat. My only qualm would be that the pizza was served at the same time as the side dishes, so it was a little cold by the time we got round to eating it. Maybe it’s possible to request the side dishes be brought out first? I will definitely come back here again.

Good pizza. Reminds me of pizza from America. Went for lunch and got the all you can eat lunch special for a good price. I was told that the specialty pizzas are better, so I’ll try one of those next time.
