湖面には浮浅橋が架けられており、渡ることが出来ます。
左岸側の法面の絵や、下流側の廃道橋も見どころの一つです。
 The spillway is clearly visible.
A floating bridge is built on the lake surface and you can cross it.
The pictures of the slope on the left bank side and the abandoned bridge on the downstream side are also highlights.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 堤高75.5mのロックフィルで、治水と三条地区の上水利用を目的とした県営の補助多目的ダム。旧名は五十嵐川ダム。人工湖はひめさゆり湖と名付けられている。ダムカードは管理事務所で貰える。厳冬期に訪問したが、ご覧の通りだった。国道289号はここまでは除雪されているが、この先の福島方面は通行止めである。
A rockfill dam with a bank height of 75.5m, a prefectural auxiliary multipurpose dam for the purpose of hydraulic control and water use in the Sanjo area. The old name is Igarashi River Dam. The artificial lake is named Himesayuri Lake. You can get the dam card at the management office. I visited in the midwinter, and it was as you can see. Snow has been removed from National Highway 289 so far, but the road to Fukushima is closed.

広さもそんなにないのでカヤック初心者には最適。
ブラックバス釣りもできます。
綺麗に整備された公園はお散歩するのにも最適で、お弁当もってピクニックも楽しいと思います
A precious dam lake where kayaking is officially allowed
It's not so big, so it's perfect for kayak beginners.
You can also fish for black bass.
The well-maintained park is perfect for a walk, and I think it's fun to have a lunch and a picnic.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 2018.11.07 ?️ 大谷ダムの天端道路を渡って、ダム湖（ひめさゆり湖）対岸の駐車場にクルマを止め、景色を楽しみました。のどかな風景です。笠堀ダムと大谷ダム、近くにあるので両方見学することをおすすめします?
2018.11.07 ?️ Crossing the top road of Otani Dam, parked the car in the parking lot on the opposite bank of the dam lake (Lake Himesayuri) and enjoyed the scenery. It is a peaceful landscape. Kasabori Dam and Otani Dam are nearby, so we recommend visiting both ?

紅葉狩りで大谷ダムまで行ってみました～✋ う～ん…もう紅葉も終わりに近いかな？? ダムから福島県に抜ける『六十里越え』は…4㎞程先で通行止✋でした?
今日はちょっと曇りで、写真もあんまりキレイに撮れなかった～?

I went to Otani Dam to hunt for autumn leaves ~ ✋ Hmm ... Is the autumn leaves near the end? ? "Over 60 ri" from the dam to Fukushima prefecture was ... 4 km away and closed ✋ ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 紅葉の時期ではなかったですが、何年か振りに行ってみました。冬準備をしてて立ち入り禁止区域もありましたが、晴れた日だったので、水面に山々が映り、ダムが緑色に光っててとてもキレイでした?️
ピンクの花びら⁉️寒桜かな?⁉️
赤い実を付けた木々?もあり、冬を前にしてもしっかりと生きている木々達?を感じました。
It wasn't the time for the autumn leaves, but I went there for the first time in a few years. I was preparing for winter and there was an exclusion zone, but it was a sunny day, so the mountains were reflected on the surface of the water and the dam was shining green and it was very beautiful ?️

There are also trees with red fruits ?, and I felt the trees ? that are still alive even before winter.
