加茂中心市街地から加茂川上流へ?クルマで20分、加茂市民が水源地と親しんで呼んでいる水道貯水池に着きます。
ここは奥早出粟守門県立自然公園内にあり、新潟県や加茂市ではこの一帯を（加茂市）粟ヶ岳県民休養地と（パンフレットでは）紹介しています。（グーグルマップでは粟ヶ岳県民休養地で載っていない）
貯水池周辺はビジターセンター、?️?駐車場、⛺キャンプ場が整備されていて、誰でもが無料で利用できます。
ここは、粟ヶ岳（1292.7m）の中央登山道入口であり、山頂まで約３時間、景色は雄大で新潟平野が一望できます。コースは山頂まで登り詰めなので、初心者はゆっくりとマイペースで登ってください。
帰りはここからクルマで5分のところに♨️日帰り温泉「美人の湯」があります?

From downtown Kamo to the upper reaches of the Kamo River ? 20 minutes by car, you will arrive at the water reservoir, which Kamo citizens call the water source.
This area is located in Okuhayade Awagatake Prefectural Natural Park, and Niigata Prefecture and Kamo City introduce this area as (Kamo City) Awagatake Prefectural Recreation Area (in the pamphlet). (Not listed in Awagatake Prefectural Recreation Area on Google Maps)
Around the reservoir, there are a visitor center, ?️? parking lot, and ⛺ campsite, which anyone can use for free.
This is the entrance to the central mountain trail of Awagatake (1292.7m), and it takes about 3 hours to reach the summit. The scenery is magnificent and you can overlook the Niigata Plain. The course climbs to the top of the mountain, so beginners should climb slowly and at their own pace.
On the way back, there is a one-day hot spring "Bijin no Yu" 5 minutes by car from here ?
