Dinner for two with I don’t remember how many courses, five shots of Hibiki 17yo and one Kirin beer for just 25,000 yen.

What a fantastic authentic Japanese culinary experience!!!
I can’t name any of the 16-18 courses of the special menu we tried but man, one was greater than the other.
Exceptional dishes all done in an open kitchen in front of your eyes by a professional group of white apron chefs.
Impeccable service.
A bit pricey but worth every penny!!!
Great people like most Japanese, beautiful ambience and maybe one of my best food culture super tasty ? evening!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really good. Went because of the raving reviews. Did not reserve so went at 5.15pm. Place starts getting busy at about 6.15pm. Husband does not eat sashimi but the chefs were accommodating. Fabulous end with the jelly in black sugar syrup and soy flour.
Experience legitimised and affirmed by the constant flow of elders (aged 45 and above), and you would agree this is a strong sign of the authencity of traditional cuisine.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is my happy place in Osaka. Carefully prepared food, phenomenal service. The staff really takes care of you.
I sometimes get the courses, love love the maguro, tempura, lotus root dumpling and scallops. Don't be afraid to ask for recommendations even if your Japanese is embarrassingly basic like mine. Have Dassai sake with fish, if you can.
Sit at the counter, order a yuzu liqueur with soda and watch the well-oiled machine at work.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I couldn’t make a reservation so went at 5:00 pm. Had the shortest Omakaze (but still 7 dishes, 8800 yen) and it was very fresh and delicious. The staff explained the cuisine very kindly in English. A lot of seafood menu interpreted into Osaka style. It was open kitchen, very interesting to watch the cooks (including the owner chef) working to make the best dishes.?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visited on Thursday 8PM without reservation and had "Bamboo" course. There were still few vacant seats around. Busy kitchen was fully opened so fully satisfying to watch all crews working.
I can't tell that I am a luxury epicurean but there's no doubt every dishes has own zest and cooked with full of care.
Overall, I felt lucky to choose ASAI. It was quite an experience, I was happily satisfied with the dinner. Will do visit again for sure if I had any chance.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The restaurant usually full and recommend make reservation. An open kitchen concept and able to watch crews working. We order the second highest price omakase set. Sake taste good. The set was amazing and cooked with care and good presentation. Fabulous meal end with wonderful dessert. Server was friendly and explained each dish while serving. Owner-chef came and said hello to us. Considering the quality of food, services and the ambiance, it was a value for money.
