 It is an old dam before the war. It's small, but if you take a closer look, including the surrounding area, it's quite tasteful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 関電が所有する発電専用、重力式コンクリートダム。天端を埋め尽くす14門のラジアルゲートを、取水口はスクリーンの先に3門のローラーゲートを備えている。「土木遺産2000」に指定されている、めちゃくちゃ格好いいダム。
Gravity-type concrete dam dedicated to power generation owned by Kanden. The intake is equipped with 3 roller gates at the end of the screen, with 14 radial gates filling up the sky end. A really cool dam that has been designated as "Civil Heritage 2000".

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ダムのすぐ脇で国道418号が通行止めになっているので人は殆ど来ませんが渋いダムです。
There are almost no people coming because National Highway No. 418 is closed just beside the dam, but it is a quiet dam.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 深い緑のなかに、渋いダム。
ダムを眺めるのはフェンス越しで、少し残念です。下流の新丸山ダムが完成すると、こちらの水位も増えるらしく、それに備えた工事をしています。
ダムに向かう国道の、道幅が狭くなる手前にいた警備員の方が、八百津へは抜けられないよ！ダムは見られるけど工事してるよ！と教えてくれました。ダムまでの道は、車のすれ違いはできない程の狭い道（酷道？）でした。
A bitter dam in the deep green.
It's a little disappointing to see the dam through the fence. When the downstream Shin-Maruyama Dam is completed, the water level here seems to increase, and we are preparing for it.
The guards on the national highway to the dam, just before the road narrows, can't get out to Yaotsu! You can see the dam, but it's under construction! Told me. The road to the dam was so narrow that cars couldn't pass each other (a rough road?).
