M	Moli Lizhi (茉莉茘枝) on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ある書物によればこの岡田神社が「岡田」という地名の由来だといいます。この神社は複数の故人らから「おだいにち様」「大日堂」と呼ばれていたので、本当に地名の由来になったのか個人的には疑問です。しかし、古くは縁日が開かれてにぎわいがありました。村の中心的な存在だったのでしょうね。下岡田の鎮守様にしようという動きがありましたが、持ち主が「屋敷神さまだから、、、」と断ったためそのままとなっています。画像は震災前の様子です。もし、鎮守様として扱われていたらもっと繁栄をしていただろうと想像します。それでも、古くからある神社ですね、、じっくりと鑑賞できるものがあったのですよ。【参考】私が祖父に聞いた話です。岡田という地名は水害の多い地域につけられることが多いそうです。洪水が起きるとその場所が水から浮き出て「丘」のようにみえる。そこは居住地域にしたそうです。そして、水害で埋没する場所は田んぼにしたといわれています。だから岡田というのだそうです。岡田、新浜、堀切、鍋沼、蒲生には「ここまで水が来たよ」という文書と遺跡が多く残っています。祖父の話が岡田の地名の由来とは決めつけられません。 According to a book, this Okada shrine is the origin of the place name "Okada".
