★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A really lovely shrine dedicated to fertility, children and pregnancy. It was really busy when we went, so not sure if that was a weekend thing. There’s a fairly decent park connected to it too! But quite a bit of construction work going on.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Omiya Hachimangu is a large peaceful shrine just off the banks of the Zenpukuji river in Suginami. Rarely crowded, the shrine and surrounding gardens make for a tranquil getaway from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo and a relaxing stop when cycling or walking along the river.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An incredible space in the middle of a neighborhood. It’s a massive complex with big tori gates and a long walkway. The shrine itself is magical and tranquil.
It is adjoins the Wadabori Park complex along the Zenpuku-ji River. It’s a quiet retreat.
It gets busy during New Years as well as cherry blossom season. Enjoy!
