★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 天岩戸神社の神域は二瀬側の両域に拡がり、左岸は皇大神社に連続し、右岸は標高427.3ｍの岩戸山となっています。皇大神社参道の遥拝所からは、この岩戸山東斜面の美しいピラミッド形の山の姿をながめることができます。この東側斜面は、天岩戸神社の御神体として古くから保護されてきたことから、ほぼ原生状態に近い植生が残されており、この地域の植生も知る上で極めて学術的価値の高い自然林となっています。
