★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic place! The Unagi is perfectly seasoned, and the hitsumabushi set is just great. There are menu and eating instructions in English as well.
We came in late one night when the place was closing, and the owner even reopened it for us! Would definitely eat here again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was lucky enough to find this place when I was looking for a good unagi place. I went in and the owners, exceptionally nice people, sat me down and fed me some of the best eel I have ever had. It wasn't too sweet, grilled perfectly, and was tender and not oily at all. Even better, the price was reasonable; around 4500 yen for a liter of beer, a lot of eel, and an eel omelet. I would come back in a second, and wish I had discovered it earlier. It's conveniently located by Toji Temple and I'd advise anyone looking for an amazing eel restaurant to check it out.
One final thing to note is that have an English menu as well and the owners speak decent English.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Super-yummy eel. We had all 3 eel dishes and order one again between four of us. Lovely guys running the place since 1952. Would think that this is the best eel restaurant (unagi) ever! Cannot recommend more highly.

1st floor is Fresco supermarket , go upstairs and you will find the mysterious restaurant!
Unagi don (Grilled eel rice bowl) is only provided at lunchtime , so don’t be late!
