少女が手に乗せているうさぎは、ガラス細工のうさぎが、東京大空襲による高熱で変形してしまった姿を表現しています。
高木敏子さんは東京の生まれですが、戦時中は疎開のため二宮に滞在しており、その際に父親を米軍の機銃掃射で亡くしています。
An image of a non-fiction novel "Glass Rabbit" based on the actual experience of Toshiko Takagi. This work was later made into a movie, a TV drama, and an animation.
The rabbit that the girl holds is a figure of a glasswork rabbit deformed by the high heat of the Tokyo air raid.
Toshiko Takagi was born in Tokyo, but stayed in Ninomiya during the war to evacuate, losing his father in a U.S. military machine gun shooting.
