★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 立派な銀杏が茂る銀杏八幡宮には、それより古くからの銀杏稲荷も建ちます。向かって左が八幡宮、正面が稲荷です。八幡宮の由来は、源義家が、奥州征伐の途中、当地で休憩していたところ、中川上より銀杏の枝が流れてきた。その枝を丘の上にさし「征伐成功のあかつきには枝葉が茂るように」と祈願した。奥州平定の後再びこの地に帰り至ったとき銀杏が大きく繁茂していたので、神の恩に感謝し太刀一振を捧げ、八幡宮を勧請したのが、康平五年（1062）で、創祀と伝えられています。

The origin of Hachimangu Shrine was where the Genji family rested in the middle of the Oshu conquest, and a branch of Ginkgo flowed from Nakagawa. He put the branch on the hill and prayed that "the branches and leaves will grow when the success of the conquest". Gingko was prosperous when he returned to this place after Oshu Tairasada, so he thanked God's favor, gave his sword, and solicited Hachimangu Shrine in Kōhei 5 (1062). It is reported.

蛎殻町交差点の近くの、銀杏八幡宮の中に相殿社として祀られています。
《八幡宮以前の創建か？》
八幡宮は、安永4年（1775年）に社殿が出来ましたが、稲荷社はそれ以前から祀られていたようです。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 小さいけれども存在感の稲荷神社でした。
周辺はビルが多く立ち並ぶ都会の中にあるからこそ、一層、独特な雰囲気を感じました。
また、お稲荷様の表情も一風違った雰囲気で、特に生きているような感情を感じさせる表情が特徴的でした。
また、境内に入る鳥居とは別で本殿にも小さな鳥居があり、不思議な雰囲気でした。
そういえば、早稲田の方にある水稲荷神社の裏手にも、ここと同じような小さな鳥居と小さなお稲荷様がいらっしゃいました。
鳥居はくぐるものではありますが、この小さな鳥居は人間にはくぐることはできそうにありません。
そして、もしも、何かの間違いでくぐることができたならば、その先にはどんな世界が待っているのでしょうか？
・・ちょっとだけファンタジーな雰囲気を感じるような稲荷神社でした。
