★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 池やダム湖ではなく、川をダムがせき止めているだけなので正確にはダムではなく堰らしい。大雨時や雪解け時には放流が見れるらしく、運良く横を通りがかったら勢いの良い放流を見ることができた。水がきれいなこともあってなかなかいい放流スポットだと思います。
※この根尾川の右岸(西岸)の県道255号線-根尾谷汲大野線-は交通量が非常に少ない割には道幅がそこそこ広く、さらにトンネルや急勾配区間もないため、サイクリストにはおすすめです。岐阜市から淡墨桜を見に行くとき、特に谷汲から北上するときなどは非常に使い勝手が良いと思います。
