I stopped by during the touring. It has a good view and is usually a good place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 大きなロックフィルダムです。眼下には大きなダム湖、発電所も見え、雄大な景色が楽しめます。訪問したのは夏真っ盛りで、現地も30℃を超えて日差しがまぶしかったのですが、割と風が気持ちよく感じました。ただ、日陰はあまりないので夏に行くなら帽子と水分補給は必須です。
管理所または記念館でダムカードがもらえます。
It's a big rockfill dam. Below you can see a large dam lake and a power plant, and you can enjoy a magnificent view. I visited in the middle of summer, and the temperature was over 30 degrees Celsius and the sun was shining, but the wind felt good. However, there is not much shade, so if you go in the summer, a hat and hydration are essential.
You can get a dam card at the management office or the memorial hall.

特に人気スポットがある訳でもないのですが、紅葉が見れないかな～と寄ってみました。
ダム湖の周りをバイクで一周しましたが所々にとてもきれいなもみじがありました。多分、今週で紅葉も終わりかと思います。
ダムの上には道路があり通行する事ができます。途中、「東仙峡金山湖」という木の標識があり、絶好のphotoスポットでした。
岩屋ダムは、ロックフィルダムで岩を積み上げたダムで見応えがありました。
ダムカードは、日曜日でもいただけます。ダム事務所の入口か、展示館の中に無人で置いてありました。

I don't think there are any particularly popular spots, but I wondered if I could see the autumn leaves.
I went around the dam lake by motorcycle, but there were some very beautiful maple leaves in some places. Maybe the autumn leaves will be over this week.
There is a road above the dam that allows you to pass. Along the way, there was a wooden sign saying "Tosenkyo Kanayama Lake", which was a great photo spot.
The Iwaya Dam was a spectacular dam where rocks were piled up at the rockfill dam.
You can also get a dumb card on Sundays. It was unmanned at the entrance of the dam office or in the exhibition hall.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 11月中旬の平日に下呂温泉への道のりで、紅葉を見に立ち寄りました。昭和51年に完成した日本有数の美しさを誇るロックフィル式ダム（岩石や土砂を積み上げて建設する型式のダム）です。エジプトのアスワンハイダムもこの方式。このダム建設で出来たのが金山湖で、この湖畔の遊歩道から、紅葉と散策が楽しめる。ツーリングコースとしても人気！東海の水瓶とも言われ、周辺の山々の紅葉は飛騨美濃紅葉33選に指定。
ダムの上部は車で通行も出来たので、対岸まで行ってUターンして戻った。紅葉はピークを少し過ぎて、日暮れだったので鮮やかさはイマイチだったが、湖畔の紅葉を楽しめた。
On weekdays in mid-November, I stopped by to see the autumn leaves on the way to Gero Onsen. It is a rock-fill dam (a type of dam constructed by stacking rocks and earth and sand) that boasts one of the most beautiful in Japan, completed in 1976. Aswan High Dam in Egypt also uses this method. The dam was built on Lake Kanayama, and you can enjoy autumn leaves and a walk from the lakeside promenade. Also popular as a touring course! Also known as the Tokai water bottle, the autumn colors of the surrounding mountains are designated as 33 Hida Mino autumn colors.
The upper part of the dam was accessible by car, so I went to the opposite bank and made a U-turn and returned. The autumn leaves were a little past the peak and it was nightfall, so the vividness was not good, but I enjoyed the autumn leaves on the lakeside.

A 127.5 meter sloping soil impermeable wall type rockfill dam. Flood control of the Maze River and the Hida and Kiso Rivers at the confluence, irrigation, water supply, and industrial water supply to the western part of Aichi prefecture, southern part of Gifu prefecture, and northern part of Mie prefecture, and hydroelectric power generation by Chubu Electric Power's Mazegawa No. 1 power plant. A multipurpose dam whose purpose is to do. One of the three prefectures of Tokai. The artificial lake formed by the dam is named Tosenkyokanayamako and is the largest artificial lake in the Hida River basin.
