The staff were so friendly and helpful and talked us through the process.
There were a few people already visiting but it was really chilled, like you were visiting someone's house.
Right by the entrance there's a bucket of fishing toys, and sooo many boxes and high places for the cats to hide in. They also had constant access to a private back area that most of them went sprinting through.
All of the cats seemed incredibly happy, even the ones with cones on (although I took this as a sign that they are being well cared for, I know some people may look at it differently but hopefully they don't), and were all so loving and happy for strokes and scritches. They even had a couple of kittens!
It seemed like most of the other guests were just patting the cats, so offering them a chin scratch went over incredibly well.
Kids are allowed and none of the cats swiped or hissed at anyone (except the other cats) despite some of the kids being a bit rough handed.
We also got to see them being fed, which was a surprisingly fun experience. The view is really nice too.
I think we ended up staying for 2 hours but it flew by, and it was really reasonably priced.
I'd definitely recommend this cat cafe to anyone, especially after we visited a slightly more "up scale" one later in our holiday that was a let down in almost all areas in comparison (atmosphere, friendliness of the cats, friendliness of staff, price etc).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A lovely cat cafe in Ueno. Took us a while to find it, the signs on the buildings outside were a bit confusing.
The place is small, but it is kept very well and very clean. We’re not cat owners or cat lovers but went there because our daughter wanted to play with cats. The place doesn’t smell and the cats are quite active. They have kittens too, so you’ll definitely end up interacting with cats there for sure.
Price wise we found it to be quite expensive, over 5000 yen for us 2 adults and 2 kids, and just over 1 hour. But we have no reference point on how other animal cafes charge their fees.
When we’re back in Tokyo and our kids want to play with cats again, we will definitely come back here

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We visited around noon on a Friday, so the place had very few people and was very tranquil. The staff was friendly and spoke enough English to tell us what to do. She gave us disinfectant before we touched the cats and none when we were leaving, but that's okay because there's a very homey bathroom in the cafe. Plenty of types of cats, all with very different personalities. Would definitely come back again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They have really cute cats, the staff ask you to call them by their name. When you enter you have to take off your shoes and wear the slippers they give you.(I think) it's run by an elderly man whos friendly. The staff understand a bit of english but try to help as much as they can. If you want to carry the cats you have to ask them first. You don't have to pay tax for the first 45 mins but after that you have to. They also provide lockers to put your stuff in and there are lint rollers outside to get rid of cat fluff. Great place for taking photos if cats, they do get frisky with loud small children, but they don't scratch. They also have blind cats which are very cutee
