田	田中小荷 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 藤岡市指定史跡「平地神社古墳」中大塚の平地神社境内にあるこの古墳は、鮎川右岸の平坦地に造られた径33ｍ、高さ3.5ｍの円墳で、墳頂部に稲荷祠が祀られています。昭和三十五年（1960）に発掘調査が行われ、墳丘は二段に造られ、葺石・円筒埴輪列が確認されています。また、南に開口した両袖型横穴式石室の入口前には台形状の前庭が付設されていたことも明らかとなっています。玄室の平面形は撥形を呈しており、藤岡市内では最大級の規模を有しています。石室壁面は、珪岩と棒状の片岩を小口積にした模様積であり、羨道は自然石の乱石積になっています。石室からは、人骨・人歯、直刀・鉄鏃・金環・刀子・馬具が出土しています。石室の構造、出土遺物から六世紀後半に造られた古墳と推定されます（「藤岡市HP」及び「日本史跡研究会日々の徒然」より） Fujioka City Designated Historic Site "Hairichi Shrine Kofun" This burial mound in the middle ground level shrine of Nakaotsuka is a 33m diameter, 3.5m high encircled bowl built on the flat land on the right bank of the Kamogawa River, and an Inari pot is buried at the summit. ま	まほろば紀行 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 藤岡市にある平地神社古墳の石室も模様積み石室で出来ている。大きい石と小さい棒石を間に入れながら積み上げている。余談だが中央構造線の東端は群馬県まで来ていて、その石質は三波川変成岩が多く見られると思う。その三波川変成岩なのだろうか？兎に角、砂岩とか色んな石が使われている。これでもか！という意志が感じられる。石室は美しい。 The stone chamber of the Hirachi Shrine Kofun in Fujioka City is also made of patterned stone chambers.
