★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 明治維新前後の水戸藩について学べます。どうしても明治維新と言うと薩長や坂本龍馬に注目が集まり、私もその辺りについてはある程度の知識がありましたが、水戸藩については知らない事も多く色々学ぶことが出来ました。来訪者も少なく、落ち着いて自分のペースでゆっくりと楽しめました。

Speaking of the Meiji Restoration, Satsumacho and Ryoma Sakamoto attracted attention, and although I had some knowledge about that area, I was able to learn many things that I did not know about the Mito Domain. There were few visitors, and I was able to calm down and enjoy myself at my own pace.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 展示物はそこそこ有るのですが明治維新と明治天皇にフォーカスでもう一歩、茨城や水戸・大洗との関係をクローズアップしてくれると良かったかな。で、700円は高いかな。
There are so many exhibits, but it would be nice if we could focus on the Meiji Restoration and the Emperor Meiji and take a closer look at the relationship with Ibaraki, Mito and Oarai. So 700 yen is expensive.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 幕末好きにはいい場所だと思います。ただし水戸藩中心で解説されています。水戸学派閥の離合集散を時系列的に示した図があり、これはよく分かる優れた説明書でした。
展示コーナーは主に明治期の貴重な資料や書、物品がありました。
施設が古いためなのか、第一展示室のガラスの平面度が悪く、展示物が歪んで見えます。度が合ってない強いメガネを掛けたような悪い気分になりました。
さらに茶色い木製ガラス枠が絵画や書の前に位置して邪魔でした。この辺の改善があれば気持ちよく鑑賞できるんですが。

The exhibition corner mainly had valuable materials, books and articles from the Meiji period.
Perhaps because the facility is old, the flatness of the glass in the first exhibition room is bad, and the exhibits look distorted. I felt like I was wearing strong glasses that were not right.
In addition, a brown wooden glass frame was located in front of paintings and books. If there is an improvement in this area, I can appreciate it comfortably.

当初は輝かしい革新思想であり、吉田松陰をはじめとする思想家の憧れであった水戸藩の尊王公武合体論も倒幕論が主力になる末期には、因循姑息な後進思想として時代遅れとなり、結局水戸藩は薩長土肥の勝ち組グループに入れてもらうことは出来ず、その功績は忘れ去られてしまいました。
桜田門外の変や天狗党の乱で国のためだと信じて犠牲となった多数の水戸藩士達は、マンガの主人公ではないが「俺達の闘いは一体何だったんだ！」と叫びたくもなるでしょう。彼らの心の叫び、この博物館で少しは聞いてあげて下さいね。

It is a valuable place where you can feel the turbulent history from the end of the Edo period to the restoration. I can understand a little the unfortunate reason why the "great man" was not born from the Mito domain, which greatly contributed to the restoration.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 幕末と明治維新の頃をしれてよかった。エントランスやロビーには無料のWiFiがある。意外にも？明治天皇から令和までの天皇の家系とか知る機会にもなったので感慨深かった。人がとても少なかったがパラパラはいたので快適に過ごせた。
水戸藩っていうのは当時、とても影響力のあるところだったのがよくわかった。
松戸の戸定邸も行ってみるとつながりが多少あるのでそちらもおすすめする。
撮影禁止の部屋に明治天皇の銅像があったが、それよりも背後にある神武天皇の絵が印象に残った。部屋の作りとひんやりとした雰囲気が迫力を際立たせてた。（部屋に一人だけだったから特に）
見たい人は博物館のHPで見られます。

There was a statue of Emperor Meiji in the room where photography was prohibited, but the picture of Emperor Jimmu behind it left an impression. The room design and the cool atmosphere made the power stand out. (Especially because there was only one person in the room)
