★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 戦国時代塩尻峠の合戦で小笠原軍を破った武田信玄の軍勢が、そのままその日の内に一気に侵攻しこの辺りまで勢力下に収め村井に入った。その時武田方の中信侵攻拠点として築かれた村井城ですが、城とはいいますが実際には堀や城壁が無い更地に柵や平屋だけの兵站基地だったらしい。（戦国時代の防衛拠点としての城は山城が主流）その後落城し接収された深志城（後の松本城）に拠点機能が移され、村井城は短期間でその役目を終えた。
現在は何も無い閑静な住宅地で、この辺りに村井城がありましたと史跡表示されているだけ。

It is a quiet residential area with nothing at the moment, and it is only displayed as a historical site that there was a Murai Castle around here.
