Despite the historically important castle ruins, I think that few locals are aware that this is a castle ruin.
高	高橋英三 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 石碑は、山門の右にあります。境内を普通に歩いていても、何処が城跡なのかわかりませんが、第ニ山門の手前両側に空堀と土塁があります。本堂の左奥の道の左右には、空堀があります、他にもよく見れば遺構らしき不自然な地形があるかも‥‥‥?！常照寺池は、濠の一部か？尚、お寺は綺麗に清掃されとても良い雰囲気ですのでお薦めです。 The stone monument is to the right of the gate.
