文殊の森公園からの縦走で山口城跡(権現山)と祐向山城跡の間にあるのがこの法林寺城跡です。
望郷の展望台とされベンチなどが置いてあります。城跡の主郭の平坦地は広く登山道沿いや北西の尾根筋には堀切が残っています。
歴史は不明で一切の伝承もありません。

Horinji Castle Ruins
The ruins of Horinji Castle are located between the ruins of Yamaguchi Castle (Gongenyama) and Yumukaiyama Castle in a vertical run from Bunshu no Mori Park.
It is said to be an observatory of Bokyo and has benches. The flat land of the main enclosure of the castle ruins is wide, and there are moat cuts along the mountain trail and along the northwestern ridge.
The history is unknown and there is no folklore.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 駐車場からササユリ橋を渡り、すぐ左に進んでつづら折れのコースを登りました。所要時間は30分程度でした。ここから西に進むと山口城跡に行けます。途中には堀切や、能郷白山を展望できる場所の案内板があります。山口城跡から中の城跡、四季の展望台へと進み駐車場へ向かえば、文殊の森を周遊する形になります。所要時間はおおよそ２時間ほどです。望郷の展望台から祐向山へ向かう道があるようですが、踏み跡程度の道なので初心者には不向きとの掲示がありました。
From the parking lot, I crossed the Sasayuri Bridge and went straight to the left to climb the winding course. It took about 30 minutes. If you go west from here, you can reach the ruins of Yamaguchi Castle. On the way there is a guide board where you can see Horikiri and Mt. Nogo Hakusan. If you go from the ruins of Yamaguchi Castle to the ruins of the castle in the middle and the observatory of the four seasons and head for the parking lot, you will be able to tour the forest of Bunshu. It takes about 2 hours. There seems to be a road from the observation deck of Bokyo to Mt. Yumukai, but there was a notice that it was not suitable for beginners because it was a trail-like road.
