ラ	ラブにこ on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 図書館目当てできてついでに寄りました。想像以上に大きい城跡でびっくりしました。大雑把な案内板はありますが城が好きな人は調べてからくるともっと楽しめるかも。山頂まで車で行けますが道はとても狭いです。混んでる時期は避けるか下から登ってくるかした方がいいと思います。 I was able to find a library and stopped by. I was surprised at the ruins of a castle that was bigger than I had imagined. There is a rough information board, but if you like castles, you may enjoy it more if you check it out. You can drive to the top of the mountain, but the road is very narrow. I think it's better to avoid busy times or climb from below.

あ	あしひろ on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 2021/4/11 これは近世城郭ではないか。規模も造作も素晴らしい。空堀は深く、主郭側の堀切は降りたら上がれそうにない。千人溜まりと本丸の間には水堀があったようで、今も湿地になっている。本丸の土塁も分厚く高く、そこから臨む街はまさに城下町に相応しい。完全に公園だが、遺構も良く遺っている。 2021/4/11 Isn't this a modern castle? The scale and structure are wonderful. The empty moat is deep, and it is unlikely that you will be able to go up when you get off the moat on the main enclosure side. It seems that there was a water moat between the Sennin-dori and the main enclosure, and it is still a wetland. The earthworks of the main enclosure are also thick and high, and the town facing from there is just like a castle town. It's completely a park, but the remains are well preserved.

J	Jハードラー on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 比較的整備されている城跡です。本丸跡、二の丸、三の丸、空堀、土塁、曲輪などを見ることができます。本丸跡からの茂木町の眺めはよいです。二の丸まで車で行くことが出来るので高台ですが楽にいけます。 1180年（治承4年）宇都宮宗綱の次男・八田知家は源頼朝の蜂起に際の勲功によって、頼朝より茂木保の地頭職に補任される。 1192年（建久3年）に知家は三男・知基に地頭職を譲り茂木氏を名乗らせた。その茂木知基によって、建久年間（1190年 - 1199年）に築城される。 1556年に佐竹氏に攻められ茂木氏はこれに臣従、以後佐竹氏の影響下に入る[要出典]。 1585年（天正13年）には天谷場の合戦で北条氏・結城氏らの連合軍によって1度は城を落とされているが、佐竹氏の援軍を得て奪回している。 1594年（文禄3年）に佐竹義重の命によって茂木氏16代・茂木治良は小川城へと移り、茂木氏の支配が終わる。 1595年（文禄4年）に佐竹氏に属する須田治則が城主となる。 1610年（慶長15年）に佐竹氏が秋田に移封となり、代わって細川興元が茂木に入り、城下に陣屋を設けたため廃城となった。 It is a relatively well-maintained castle ruin. In 1594 (3rd year of Bunroku), Yoshishige Satake ordered Mr. Mogi's 16th generation, Haruyoshi Mogi to move to Kogawa Castle, and Mr. Mogi's rule ended. In 1595 (4th year of Bunroku), Harunori Suda, who belongs to Mr. Satake, became the lord of the castle. In 1610 (Keicho 15th year), Mr. Satake was transferred to Akita, and Komoto Hosokawa entered Mogi in his place, and the castle was abandoned because a camp was set up under the castle.
